Fall Starside Update

Hello readers! It's been a while since you heard from us - for good reasons, we promise! First, I'd like to welcome the new subscribers who we met at our last two conventions, FanExpo Boston and Granite Con! It was awesome being back at conventions, seeing familiar faces and meeting new people. Thanks so much for stopping by the table! We have one more convention coming up this year, and it's good ol' Rhode Island Comic Con! RICC was our first con back in 2018 and, even though we don't live in RI, it feels like our home base in a way, and we can't wait to go back. This year RICC is on November 5-7, and you can get tickets or learn more on their website. The main reason we've been so quiet is that Dylan and I got married! Some of you may already know how much work goes in to planning and executing a wedding. It was quite the task to balance that, our day jobs, and working on the comic, so Starside had to take a back seat for the month of October. After the wedding, Dylan and I went to Disney World for our honeymoon. Neither of us had been since we were kids, and we were especially excited to go to Galaxy's Edge. We spent a lot of time there and did all of the Star Wars activities we could possibly do! Here's a pic of us with the Millennium Falcon!

After all of that craziness, it's good to be home and working on the comic again. Personally, I feel healed from some intense burnout I'd been dealing with all year, and I'm really excited to get back to work. Starside #5 will be released via Kickstarter in February, so our first priority right now is to get all the rewards prepared. Like the issue 4 Kickstarter, rewards will include a variant cover and a patch. I'm also excited for two rewards that I think will capture the essence of our new location, Hakko-Baaz. But I won't spoil them just yet. For our new subscribers, here is the cover of Starside #5:

There is still a couple of months until the campaign launches, so we're not quite ready to reveal a lot of details or finished art from the issue, but for you subscribers we offer the below concept art to hopefully hold you over!

We recently shared some details about our next location in the story, Hakko-Baaz. Here are some concepts Jordan sketched to visualize our idea of a space port city built onto/into a large asteroid. Below are concepts of some of the city's residents.

I know this was a short one, but since we're getting back in the groove, we just wanted to send out a quick update letting you all know what we've been up to in the last two months. We're looking forward to sharing even more about this upcoming issue very very soon! For anyone attending Rhode Island Comic Con this weekend, be sure to stop by our table, booth 560 in Artists Alley! Can't wait to see you there! As always, thank you so much for tuning in and supporting Starside! We'll see you in the next update. - Lane P.S. Remember, on our website you can find digital and physical copies of each issue, merch, and surplus rewards from past Kickstarter campaigns (while supplies last).
