Announcing Starside #6!
Hey readers!
Do you hear that?... That’s the sound of the Starside team coming out of the creative incubator with something exciting to share!
Without further ado, we’re happy to announce that the Starside #6 Kickstarter Campaign will launch on Tuesday, July 18th! Get ready to rejoin Jack & Riggs as we find them locked away in the depths of Erzema Techworks, a shady criminal organization operating in the lower district of Hakko-Baaz! With the returning threat of Salvans looming over them, Jack and Riggs must learn to cooperate with their mysterious cellmate to work out a plan of escape.
With the big news out of the way, we’d like to turn our attention to the new readers we met at our most recent convention appearance: Fanfaire NYC. It was awesome to be able to get back on the floor to meet some new readers and creators. To all those we met on that cold, rainy weekend, we want to extend a very warm welcome to the Starside Universe! We hope you like it here!

We also want to shout out the returning readers we met at the event. It’s incredibly humbling when people come up to let us know that they’ve been reading Starside since 2020 and are eagerly awaiting the next chapter of the story. Thank you! :)

Next up, we want to throw some praise to our amazingly talented artist, Jordan Chao. He is solely responsible for every facet of the art in Starside from the logo to the inks, pencils & color, all the way to the lettering. We wanted to take some time to also promote his original art that he posts on social media. If you love the art in Starside and want to help support Jordan and his craft, you can follow him on his Instagram account here and tell him how cool his art is, because sometimes I feel like I don’t do that enough.

To wrap up, we want to acknowledge that there has certainly been a large chunk of time between the release of Starside #5 and #6. But that doesn’t mean we’ve slowed down! On the contrary, we’ve been working on many other creative projects parallel to issue 6, and that pulled resources from the upcoming issue. Issue 6 and the eventual issue 7 work as a two-part conclusion for the first volume of Starside, so while working on issue 6, the team doubled up our efforts by also starting production on issue 7.
On top of that, the three of us have been working on a new secret project that we aren’t ready to go into full details about, but it’s something that has us very excited and we hope it will help open new doors for us as a creative team.
